Presidential aspirants of the All Progressives Congress from the South-West and other major stakeholders met in Abuja on Saturday night.
The meeting was still holding as of early Sunday morning.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; APC stalwart, Bola Tinubu; Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State; former Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun; Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate, Ajayi Boroffice; a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole; and fiery Lagos cleric, Pastor Tunde Bakare are the seven South-West presidential aspirants attending the meeting.
Also present at the meeting are governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun) and Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo).
Details of the meeting still remain sketchy as of press time.
The meeting is coming on heels of Northern APC governors backing of a powershift to the South in 2023.
