In the Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, bandits have assaulted certain communities and killed at least three persons.
Farmers who were working in their fields on Saturday were believed to have been the victims of the terrorsts’ attack.
Ishaq Kasai, the head of the Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union, claimed that the bandits kidnapped 22 individuals and stole motorcycles. Security services have not yet confirmed the attack.
He claims that on September 24, about 7 p.m., bandits broke into the Hayin Gada of Damari Community in Kazage Ward, where they killed two residents and abducted 12 others.
During the incident, they also ransacked stores in the same neighborhood.
Another group of bandits assaulted a farm center along the Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna road that same day; killed one person and later abducted six more.
In addition, the bandits kidnapped four more people in Dajin Jangali and took three motorcycles from local farmers in Kamfanin Doka.
The Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union, meantime, has noted with grave worry how terrorists have continued to infiltrate several towns and stolen merchandise from stores without being confronted.
However, the union urged the appropriate authorities to step up their efforts to resist terrorist activity in Birnin-Gwari LGA, particularly during this early crop harvesting period.
