Strung for cash? Join the trend and tattoo Bobrisky’s face on your body and get the opportunity to win a huge sum of money. No hidden fees, no terms, and conditions, no extra charges, no fine print. Just like that because apparently, Bob has decided that her face on any fan’s body is an honor worthy of a gift.
It seems bizarre but if there’s one thing we all know Bob for, it’s doing the inevitable, being inevitable, owning herself; warts and all. Constantly trending, simply for the hell of it.
I’m exceedingly sure of this because just last week, she was trending over her fight with a Nigerian actress, Nkechi Blessing. She aired their dirty laundry without any care. In a way that’s peculiar only to Bob.
Now, one thing that comes with the celebrity lifestyle package is the extreme love and hate from people. That is almost inevitable, so, if your career path is headed in that line, just brace yourself.
In fact, in a recent interview on the Nancy Isime show, it was quite emotional watching her shared how she almost got depressed by hateful words from people.
The same way trolls expressed their hate, so also do right people shower their love. Some fans spend their time, energy, emotions, and resources going all out for the celebrities they love. They can go very extreme sometimes. But the question is, how extreme is extreme
There are innumerable ways of showing your loyalty and affection for a particular celebrity of your choice, it’s a fan’s right to do so.
Nevertheless, certain decisions should be critically thought through and not done in the spur of the moment.
I get that we’re in a woke era and everyone is opinionated, ‘cool’, and daring to be different. But, tattooing the face of your favorite celebrity on your body really isn’t something to be smiled on. Especially, when you’re doing it for the sake of money.
Regardless of the numerous opinions that were up and about on Twitter and numerous gossip blogs and other social media, this tattoo trend brought a lot of things into perspective. Such as; the impoverished state of the economy, the fickle state of mind of the Zillennials or Generation Z, and the Clout chasing culture on social media.
In one of the pro-tattoo trend videos, a middle-aged mother of one of Bobrisky’s fans, was recorded live begging Bobrisky to please pick her son to gift money because her son is a die-hard fan and has done the needful by tattooing her face on his body.
After the pleading, she went on to start releasing piping hot prayer points for Bobrisky.
Many were stunned watching that video because, not only did we get to imagine the state of that family’s finances, we also through that incident, got a glimpse into the impoverished state of the economy.
This enabled us to understand that poverty is doing more harm than good.
Anyway, at the end of the day, one thing is sure, no publicity is negative publicity because it’s all a game of clout and the celebrity with the highest number of trends wins.
With this most recent stunt, Bobrisky has not just proven to be the queen of social media and trends, she also did her quota to help eradicate poverty in Nigeria. Albeit, in a weird way and for that reason, we remain somewhat grateful.
