Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, says aggrieved politicians should stop attacking former President Olusegun Obasanjo, for endorsing the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi for the February poll.
Obasanjo had in his New Year message on Sunday declared that Obi had an edge over other candidates vying for the number political office in the country.
Supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and his Peoples Democratic Party, counterpart, Atiku Abubakar, have been expressing anger over Obasanjo’s public endorsement of the LP presidential flagbearear.
But Senator Shehu Sani while reacting to the controversies stated that the former president Obasanjo is entitled to his own opinion.
He emphasised that the former president should not be attacked for the choice he had made.
Senator Sani in a tweet on his official Twitter handle, wrote, “Obasanjo has made his choice. He is entitled to his opinion. He should not be attacked.
“Those who can’t get his endorsement should seek that of Gowon, IBB or Abdulsallam, they are equally credible former military and political leaders. Ordinary President of Berekete is also available”.
