Aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party youths continued their ‘Secondus Must Go’ protest in Abuja on Tuesday and vowed to keep their demonstration until he resigns.
It has been a hard time for the National Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, as efforts to have him kicked out as the leader of Nigeria’s major opposition party keep mounting by the day.
Moves to remedy the situation by the party stakeholders have not yielded any tangible results so far.
The youths in support of the alleged plots by some chieftain of the party to remove Secondus continued their protest on Tuesday.
Despite the governors and the party’s Board of Trustees appeal for calm, the protesters stormed the national secretariat of the party (Wadata House) in Wuse Zone 5 area of the nation’s capital, accusing Secondus of mismanaging the funds of the party. They also accused him of below-par performance as the party’s national chairman.
Waving their placards, they protesters chanted among other things as they demonstrated “Secondus cannot be bigger than the party.”
