Kassim Afegbua, former aide to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Abubakar Atiku, has frowned at the choice of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the party’s vice presidential candidate.
He said he would defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress to give his support for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
Afegbua stated this on Thursday while speaking as guest analyst on Arise News show.
Atiku on Thursday announced Okowa as his running mate, disappointing those who rooted for Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike to emerge as his vice presidential candidate.
During the Arise Interview, Afegbua said Wike was more deserving of the running mate slot, describing Atiku’s choice of Okowa over Wike as a reward for treachery.
Wike had polled 237 against the 371 delegate votes Atiku gathered at the PDP presidential primary to secure the party’s presidential ticket on May 29.
Afegbua, a former commissioner for Information in Edo State, sad over the development, said would not only dump the PDP for APC, but would campaign for Tinubu to emerge as the next president.
