Travelling is an adventure some have signed up to take any time any day while some see traveling as one heck of a punishment for different reasons.
These reasons include distance, phobia for height, luggage stress, check in process, unpacking and packing before leaving or after arriving at destination.
Amidst traveling there are other things to put in check while preparing to go on a journey to make one’s journey smooth and less stressful.
Having a sticky note in a strategic place either in the house or at the office with the list of all items to take on a journey can save you the stress of ‘oh mine! I finally forgot to add this in my luggage’.
Below are some travelers guide to make either your official trip, baecation, world tour or a mini weekend getaway, a stress free one. Aside packing necessary clothes and lingerie for the trip, below are other things you don’t want to buy at expensive prices at the airport/ park among other things you can’t access on the trip except you pack them from home.
Toiletries: This is an essential kit almost everybody should arrange after arranging clothes for their next trip; picking your toothbrush, mini toothpaste, face wipe, hand cream, cotton bud, soap and other basic bathroom essentials to keep yourself fresh on the journey.
Passport/ ID: Means of identification is something one must always hold close on a trip either international traveling or domestic one to clear unnecessary doubts should there be an emergency.
Cash: To avoid getting stranded, having enough cash for the trip is another important factor that needs attention when going on a trip. Having the currency they spend in a country you’re traveling to is essential and for domestic travelers having substantial cash to get necessary things is also important.
Documents: Arranging necessary documents when going on an official trip cannot be overemphasised because what is the essence of packing cash and other kits and you forgot important documents. However, technology has made life and things very accessible with a snap of fingers, that’s, documents can be scanned and kept on your phone for smartphones/ IOS users and an application called scanner can be installed on play store by android users. You see! your trip ain’t ruined after all and you can still access those paper documents you forgot at home on your phone.
Headset/playlist: Are you not comfortable sleeping while traveling so I will suggest you design a beautiful playlist to make your journey smoothe with your headset on while learning those beautiful lyrics on your trip.
Camcorder/ Novel: Capturing nature and captivating characters has been one thing I embraced when going on a trip. Window seat is the best place to capture the clouds, landing an aircraft when flying. Also capturing beautiful trees or a usual being can be easier when you sit by the windows on a road trip. So going on a trip with a camcorder to save your battery life is a smart move.
Also, having some of your latest novels in your library with you on a trip is copacetic.
Powerbank /Charger: You don’t want to start a conversation with a stranger based on “excuse me are you using an iPhone or an android phone?” Please my phone is on 5% and I will need a cord or a powerbank to boost the power. ‘Hilarious’ oh! In your angel’s mind how did you manage to forget your charger and power bank when you know you’re going on a trip. To avoid awkward moments, your charger, an adapter and a power bank should be added to the list while preparing for your trip.
Familiarise yourself with basic greetings, culture, language and some sort of offensive act they frowned at in the new country or state you’re traveling to. If it warrants doing a little research before going, that sounds like a great idea.
On a close, I will say “enjoy your next trip” in different languages. It’s your assignment to interpret:
‘Disfruta tu próximo viaje’
‘Profitez de votre prochain voyage’
‘Viel Spaß bei deiner nächsten Reise’
‘享受您的下一次旅行’
‘Xiǎngshòu nín de xià yīcì lǚxíng’
