The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee has unanimously approved and endorsed Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick to vie for any elective position in the forthcoming CAF and FIFA elections.
The NFF Executive Committee in a communiqué issued on Tuesday praised Pinnick for his efficient leadership and urged all stakeholders to throw their weight behind him.
Part of the communiqué which supports the endorsement of Pinnick reads as follows;
“Executive Committee unanimously approved and endorsed the NFF President, Mr. Amaju Melvin Pinnick to vie for any elective position in the forthcoming CAF and FIFA elections as deemed appropriate.
“Praising the NFF President for the adroit and efficient leadership he has provided for navigating the rather difficult terrain of Nigeria football administration for the past six years.
“The Executive Committee further congratulated the President for the exceptional representation that he indeed provided for Nigeria, WAFU B and indeed Africa in his current position as CAF Executive Committee Member, and enjoined all stakeholders to fully support him in the upcoming CAF & FIFA elections.”
In another development, the NFF approved the appointment of former Super Eagles captain, Austin Eguavoen as the new Technical Director of the NFF.
Eguavoen was at the verge of picking up a managerial job with a Mali club, but made a u-turn to take up the vacant position in the NFF.
He will work with the following persons, whose appointments were also approved: Mr. Paul Aigbogun (Deputy Director, Technical & Scouting); Terry Babatunde Eguaoje (Consultant on Coaching & Development); Abdulrafiu Yusuf (Assistant Director, Coaching & Development); Siji Lagunju (Assistant Director, Training & Development) and Garba Lawal (Chief Technical Officer).
“The appointments are with immediate effect,” the statement added.
