The embatled National Charman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, on Friday said he would always obey court order on democratic issues.
He spoke while returning to the party’s office on Friday after a Kebbi State High Court reinstated him back as the chairman of the party.
Speaking when he arrived at the PDP’s secretariat ahead of the National Working Committee meeting, Secondus said he was back to continue his duties.
He said, “It’s good to be back. We are a party that respects the rule of law. We obey Court orders, we obeyed the order given last week and we are obeying the one given yesterday. We have a series of meetings today.”
A Rivers State High Court had recently ordered Secondus to stop parading himself as the national chairman of the party.
Hon. Justice O. Gbasam of the Degema Judicial Division Vacation Court sitting in Port Harcourt granted the injunction following a suit No: PHC/2183/CS/2021 filed by Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nana Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen and Umezirike Onucha against Uche Secondus (1st defendant) and the PDP (2nd defendant).
However, the Kebbi State High Court on Thursday reinstated the embattled PDP chairman.
Justice Nusirat Umar who is on vacation at the Kebbi High Court gave the order in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday while ruling in suit no: KB/AC/M. 170/2021.
