The apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has expressed displeasure as Court refused to grant bail to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu on Tuesday.
Speaking on the matter, Damian Okeke Ogene, the group’s national vice chairman, expressed dismay, saying it has now become quite evident to them that President Muhammadu Buhari meant all he stated about his refusal to free Kanu.
Ogene, who cautioned against the implications of Kanu’s detention, remembered that Buhari had made disparaging remarks about Kanu’s release in many public forums as if he had committed horrific crimes against God and mankind.
He expressed worry that all of the demands from Igbo elders for Buhari to release Kanu to them for an amicable resolution of all the lingering agitations have now proved futile, saying that with this development, history might not tell good of Buhari both now and in future.
