… arrested by police in Kogi
Police in Kogi have arrested an over 80-year-old man, Dauda Ibrahim, for allegedly kidnapping and killing his 15-year-old daughter, Sherifah for ritual purpose.
The over 80-year-old father was arrested in Idah Local Government Area of Kogi State, where the incident occurred.
The octogenarian suspect is said to be a staff of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah, in the Department of Works and Fire Services unit.
He was alleged to have perpetrated the nefarious act, alongside two other people, Isah Adams and one Adah.
It was learnt that the deceased victim, Sherifah was abducted on August 4, 2022, at their residence in Okenya, along Itayi street, in the Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of the State.
It was gathered that the girl’s remains were, a few days after her disappearance, discovered in a shallow grave with her body mutilated and some vital organs missing.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Williams Ayah, disclosed that the suspect and his accomplices had been arrested and undergoing interrogation.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, had directed that the matter be transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in Lokoja for further investigation.
“The commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka, has ordered for an investigation into the case of an alleged kidnap, killing and disappearance of the body parts of a young lady identified as Miss Sherrifah, a 15-year-old girl in Idah by her father,” he said.
