Nigeria Air has received the approval of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to commence operation with leased aircraft.
This was announced by the Minister of Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika on Wednesday while briefing State House correspondents after the weekly FEC meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Sirika, who did not mention when the national carrier would commence operations, hinted that the company would begin with three aircraft.
According to the minister, Nigeria Air was open to investment from any of the country’s airline companies, particularly the 51 per cent shares set aside for Nigerians.
