A charity and Non-Governmental Organisation based in the United Kingdom, with office in Nigeria, Impact and Inspire, at a recent event in Lagos impacted the lives of 11 indigent undergraduates with scholarship awards.
The organisation, an initiative of Dame Wuraolami Williams, says its divine calling and mission is toward giving needed assistance and support to the less privileged, motherless-children, widows, old people, victims of rape as well as the rejected anywhere they can be found.”
Impact and Inspire has been in existence in the UK since 2014 and was inaugurated in Lagos, Nigeria on February 17, 2017 by the matron of the initiative, the late Nollywood icon, Rachel Oniga.
Speaking as the presenter at the awards ceremony event, Dr. Olusegun Awe-Obe (FCAI), lauded Impact and Inspire Leader and Convener, Wuraolami Williams saying that only a person
“completely sold to Christ Jesus that could be involved in this kind of great work of wiping tears from the eyes of teeming number of people, giving hope to those that have completely lost all hope, giving home to homeless, taking care of the sick whose relatives have abandoned, sheltering those that have nowhere to go, and giving lots of people the reasons to continue to live with the believe that all will end well.”
Awe-Obe continued, “We are here today to witness yet another season of joy, season of a renewed hope for indigent undergraduates, who are the future of this country, whose dreams could have been shattered, but for this divine intervention. They’re future leaders destined to rule the world.
“Today a total number of eleven lucky undergraduates will benefit from the Impact and Inspire Initiative Scholarship Award Program. The Scholarship Awards range from N500,000 to N300,000.
“As we move forward with this God given mandate, the Impact and Inspire Initiative will continue to forge ahead until we completely break the yoke that burdens humanity.
“A few of our focus shall include;
Completion of the Impact and Inspire Empire structure and commencement of admission of Ex Wards into the Empire in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry Youths and Social Development.
“Organizing and sponsoring a weeklong Emotional Intelligence Summer Camp at the Boys Correctional Center located at Oregun, Lagos.
“Expand the scope of our Scholarship Program to cover more indigent undergraduates.
“Organize more empowerment programs for socially disadvantaged individuals, with emphasis on women.
“Continue to rehabilitate the sick and physically challenged.
Organize Seminar / Workshop to boost the skill-set needed to succeed as a Millennial.
We shall continue our International interventions.
“Finally, the Convener, our Mummy, Dame Wuraolami Williams, and her Team cannot do it alone. We are inviting you to partner with us in the divinely inspired tasks of giving to the needy and impacting positively on humanity.
“Your donations, no matter how small, will go a long way in pulling up those that are drowning, in giving hope to the hopeless. It is certain that God will bountifully reward you here on earth and a glorious crown will adorn your head in heaven above.”
