Boko Haram terrorists who escaped during an attack on the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja, the nation’s capital, have reportedly flee to Mali and Niger Republic.
Recall that the terrorists were freed on Tuesday night when the facility came under attack by gunmen.
They invaded the facility around 9 pm and operated till 2 am on Wednesday morning.
A source said “I can confirm that over 800 inmates including terrorists escaped during the attack by gunmen. Some of the inmates who are hardened Boko Haram members have escaped and are no longer in Abuja as we speak. By tomorrow, Thursday, they will have crossed the border into Niger Republic and some will go as far as Mali,” a top source revealed.
“The plan is to go and retrain them in Mali, Libya and Niger Republic for future deadlier attacks. They are strong members of ISWAP,” another source said.
