Juju music maestro, King Sunny Ade, who lost his wife a few days ago, on Thursday announced the burial arrangements of the deceased.
The deceased, Hon Ajoke Adegeye, who was a lawmaker in Lagos State, died on Tuesday after a brief illness.
In a press conference on the burial arrangements of the late lawmaker, KSA hinted that the deceased would be laid to rest on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 after a lying in state while celebration of life would come later.
He lamented that the vacuum created by his late wife would be hard to fill.
“I thank God for everything. He knows more than everyone of us. It was a big loss for me and my family. It is really a trying time. She was more than a wife to me. She was an angel that I was always calling my baby. She was a wife and mother that every good man and child must have.
“With heavy heart, we announce that she would be buried on Wednesday, September 29 after lying in state. She will be buried by Ebony funeral homes in Lagos. I appreciate everyone that stand with us at this time. Such an occurrence will not happen to you”, KSA said.
Meanwhile the son of the deceased, George Folarin Adegeye, while talking to FirstNews, said her mother’s death came as a rude shock, adding that he was yet to believe his mother would not be seen again.
Speaking on the funeral, George said his mother would be buried on September 29 while the celebration of life would be done in December 19.
“It was a painful experience. I’m yet to believe my mother is no more. We will bury her on September 29 while celebration of life would be in December 19. We cannot embalm her for that long because she has given an instruction that whenever she goes home she should not be embalmed, and that is why we have to bury her first while other things will come later.”
FirstNews also learnt that the death of the lawmaker had halted the commissioning of her son’s club house, Royal Majesty place, in Magodo, Lagos.
The club house and a car lot were planned to be commissioned on October 1, but her death has led to its indefinite postponement.
“The death of my mother also led to indefinite postponement of my newly built club house. As you can see that these resources were just put together and ready for commissioning on October 1, with what has happened, it cannot come up now till later.
“This facility is a lounge/club house with world class facilities. We also have a car lot where we sell cars here. The business will continue after the burial of my mummy. Her burial supersedes everything now.”
