A Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has debunked rumours that he has stepped down for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
He also clarified that he did not obtain the APC senatorial form, nor did he attend the screening exercise organised for APC senatorial aspirants, as being peddled by some individuals.
Recall that there were reports over the weekend that Amosun had stepped down for the APC National Leader, but reacting to the development, the former Ogun State governor said that was far from the truth.
In a statement by his media aide, Bola Adeyemi, Amosun said that the Ogun Central Senator “procured only the forms for the presidential ticket of the APC and did not attend the screening exercise for Senatorial aspirants because he is not one.”
Adeyemi in the statement urged Nigerians to ignore the rumour, adding that “Amosun is in the race for the presidential ticket of the APC and has no plans to align with any politician in the race.”
