Indigenous People of Biafra has formed an alliance with a pro-independence movement in western Cameroon, ‘Ambazonia Governing Council.’
The alliance between IPOB and the Cameroon separatist group will involve the exchange of weapons and personnel between the two groups to enable them to achieve their secessionist agenda.
IPOB, already outlawed by the Federal Government, is seeking the secession of the South-East from Nigeria to form an independent country called Biafra. The group founded by Nnamdi Kanu has been attacking security agents and facilities in the South-East, claiming that the zone has been marginalised by the Nigerian Government.
Ambazonia Governing Council on its own part has been fighting to break the English-speaking North-West and South-West regions from Cameroon.
According to an American news platform, Foreign Policy, “The scope of the alliance will include joint operations and training bases, Capo Daniel, the deputy defence chief of the Ambazonia Defense Forces, the military wing of the Ambazonia Governing Council said.
“The groups will work to secure their shared border and ensure an open exchange of weapons and personnel, representatives of both the Ambazonia and IPOB movements said.”
