Grammy Award winner, Damini Ogunlu, better known as Burna Boy has said that he is not a Nigerian artist and that he does not make money from the country.
He shared this via his Twitter handle On May 18, 2021 with a laughing emoji.
The super star made this statement while responding to various tweets from his fans.
One of them had tweeted, “Burna Boy go soon leave twitter NG for una.”
In his reply, the singer said, “Me wey no even be Nigerian artist.”
Another Twitter user said, “But you dey promote African culture and you Dey deny your own motherland, all na showbiz as usual lmao.”
Burna Boy again, “I’m from here and I live here because I love my home and my people, E no pass like that.
“I don’t make money from Nigeria. Na only cruise dey here.”
The tweet by the Grammy Award winner been attracting different reactions on social media.
The talented singer started singing at the age of 10 but professionally in 2010. He came to the limelight in 2012 and has been doing great ever since.
He won the Grammy Awards for his album ‘Twice as Tall’ this year.
