Ahead of the planned arraignment of a Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho, supporters of Yoruba nation have stormed Cotonou court where the hearing will take place.
The supporters were noticed in large numbers at the court named Cour De’appal De Cotonou on Thursday.
They were said to have laid siege to the court to show support for the activist that was arrested on Monday.
The supporters have been demanding that Igboho should not be repatriated to Nigeria.
FirstNews had reported that Igboho’s spokesperson, Olayomi Koiki, revealed in a video that the freedom fighter would be arraigned in court today.
He has spent three days in the detention of Beniniase police custody after his arrest alongside his wife on Monday night while trying to board a flight to Germany.
