Ganduje asserts leadership of APC as court halts suspension

Former Kano State Governor and APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Ganduje, reaffirmed his leadership position within the party despite recent suspension attempts, citing a court ruling that halted the move.

The Federal High Court in Kano, presided over by Justice A. M Liman, issued an injunction restraining the implementation of Ganduje’s suspension by his ward executives. The court directed all parties to maintain the status quo pending the determination of the case.

Ganduje, in response to the legal development, expressed gratitude to party members and ward officials for their support, attributing the suspension plot to Governor Abba Yusuf of the NNPP. He accused the NNPP government of attempting to weaken the APC in Kano State ahead of future elections.

Asserting the resilience of the APC in Kano, Ganduje vowed to thwart any efforts aimed at undermining the party’s strength and electoral influence. He emphasized the party’s commitment to securing substantial votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and maintaining its political dominance in the state.

Furthermore, Ganduje disclosed that the party had taken legal action against the alleged orchestrators of the suspension plot, urging law enforcement agencies to investigate their political affiliations.

He stated, “We are battle ready to take over their government… We will ensure that in 2027, there is no vacancy for any presidential candidate from Kano and from Nigeria.”

Ganduje’s remarks underscored the intensifying political dynamics in Kano State and the determination of the APC to defend its interests amidst internal and external challenges.
