Activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, was on Monday morning ‘shot’ in Abuja by a female police officer.
Sowore, who is a former presidential candidate and publisher of online news medium, SaharaReporters, was reportedly shot by the unidentified female police officer at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.
He was said to be attending a rally with some associates when the incident happened.
An activist, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the incident, adding that Sowore had been rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
A lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, also said he watched the shooting live on Facebook.
He tweeted: “@YeleSowore has just been shot by a female police officer at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.
“The criminal officer is said to be an ACP. I watched Sowore being shot live on Facebook.”
