Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, has slammed the All Progressives Congress (APC) for claiming it has 41 million members.
According to Ologbondiyan, APC is lying and only intend to use the claim to rig the coming 2023 general elections.
President Muhammadu Buhari while speaking at the party’s national convention on Saturday, said that with 41 million members, APC is the largest political party in Nigeria, adding that the ruling party can easily win electing with its numeric strength.
However, Ologbondiyan, disagreed with Buhari’s claims, saying that the APC is set to use the narrative to rig the forthcoming Ekiti, Osun and 2023 general elections.
Ologbondiyan said, ”The assertion by @OfficialAPCNg that it has registered over 40m members is a fraud.
”This arrogant falsehood has no support from any empirical evidence or data gathering. ”It is another grandiose narrative set to rig the forthcoming Ekiti, Osun and 2023 general elections,
”But Nigerians are wiser. They are used to the deployment of bogus membership figures by APC ahead of elections. After all, APC claimed to have registered over 500,000 members in the Anambra governorship election only to receive 43,000 at the polls.
”Let’s get our PVC and expire this new lie from the hierarchy of the APC.”
