The police in Lagos, on Wednesday, arrested two protesters at the Lekki tollgate, venue of the ongoing #EndSARS Anniversary protest in the state.
One of those arrested is said to be a journalist, but the other was seen displaying a placard.
The police had on Tuesday warned that they would arrest anyone found at the tollgate without an ID card.
The arrested journalist claimed that he works with LegitTV, adding that his phone, driver’s licence, and other documents had been seized by the police.
The arrested journalist, who identified himself as Abiola, was detained in a Lagos State Task Force van.
No fewer than 30 police trucks and armed personnel are deployed around the tollgate to enforce the police ban on protests.
Organisers of the protest have scheduled a car procession in honour of those allegedly killed at the Lekki tollgate last October 20, when soldiers stormed the tollgate to disperse #EndSARS protesters.
