. Polls 187, 057 votes to defeat SDP’s Segun Oni, Kolawole of PDP
The Independent National Electoral Commission Sunday morning declared the ruling All Progressives Congress’ governorship candidate, Biodun Oyebanji, the winner of the Ekiti gubernatorial election held on Saturday.
INEC Returning Officer for the Ekiti election, Prof Kayode Oyebode, announced the result in the early hours of Sunday.
According to the INEC returning officer, Oyebanji polled 187,057 votes to beat his two closest challengers, Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party, who secured 82,211 votes, and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party, who got 67,457 votes.
