The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa slumped at Presidential Villa, Abuja during an event on Thursday.
He was speaking at a programme on the importance of digital identification in commemoration of National Identity Day.
Suddenly, the EFCC boss became emotional and claimed his demeanour was due to the death of a staff member of the commission.
Bawa, however, failed to tell who the EFCC staff member was.
Not long after that, he stopped speaking and said he could not continue. Bawa then walked off the stage, sat in his chair, and slumped.
He was immediately rushed out of the hall, with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Mr Isa Panatami, among those accompanying him.
Pantami later came back to announce that the EFCC chairman had been stabilised.
The incident did not stop the event from progressing.
