The Department of the State Service (DSS) has finally produced Sunday Igboho’s 12 aides in court.
This is coming after a fresh order issued by the court that the detainees be produced in court on Monday (today).
FirstNews gathered that the suspects are currently in the court premises inside an 18-seater Toyota Hiace Bus marked, Abuja 785 KWL.
Recall that Justice Obiora Egwuatu had on July 29 issued a fresh order following an appeal by the DSS counsel, Mr Idowu Awo, that the agency is given today to comply with the order.
FirstNews had reported that Igboho’s house in Oyo State was raided by the DSS operatives on July 1. The activist in a chat with BBC Yoruba, monitored in Lagos, stated that he was in his house when the attackers stormed the building.
The Yoruba Nation agitator told BBC in Yoruba, “I just started hearing sporadic gunshots heard inside my compound and in front of my house. The attackers were shouting ‘Sunday Igboho come out, we are DSS, we are soldiers, come out!’
“I just peeped through the window, and I saw them in DSS uniform. I also saw the soldiers and I was so shocked because I didn’t kill anyone or fight with anybody. All I’m doing is fight for my people.
“All the rally I’m doing is a peaceful rally; so, I’m fighting for my family too because all the bandits kill my family, rape them, kidnap them and take ransom from them.
“But because the government refused to do the right thing, that’s why I came out to support my family to fight for our right. So, I was surprised.
“Yes, I was in the house when they came. They killed about two guys. The shooting was too much. They destroyed all my properties, all my vehicles.”
