The Commissioner for Information in Delta State, Charles Aniagwu, has slammed the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege over a statement against the State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
He warned that such a move would not help Omo-Agege to become the next governor of the state.
Omo-Agege had described Okowa as an elected monarch while accusing him of destroying the state.
He requested the members of the All Progressives Congress to chase the Okowa-led Peoples Democratic Party administration out in 2023.
Responding to this, Aniagwu said, “Some persons are hell-bent on distracting the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa but can’t distract us from the focus to develop Delta.
“Just because they want to be governor of this state, insulting people and painting falsehood can never be the vehicle to drive them to house Asaba.
“Criticism is one of the ingredients of any democratic government, however, we welcome constructive criticism.”
Aniagwu stated that the APC did not understand what good governance is all about and did not have the political will to criticize Okowa’s government.
He reiterated that the Okowa government would not slow down projects and “will continue to commission projects till May, 2023.”
