At least 20 people have been confirmed dead as a result of a fresh cholera outbreak in some parts of Bauchi State.
The Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr Aliyu Mohammed Maigoro disclosed the situation during a media briefing on Tuesday morning.
Maigoro said the outbreak has spread across nine local government areas since the first case was recorded in April.
He said the index case was a 37-year-old patient, who was admitted at Burra General Hospital on 24 April, 2021.
According to the commissioner, about 322 persons have been infected with the disease.
