President Muhammadu Buhari travelled to Adamawa State on Friday to pay a condolence visit to the family of late Ahmed Joda.
He was received at the Yola International Airport by Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintri; his Chief of Staff, Prof Maxwell Gidado; the Minister of the FCT, Mohammed Bello; heads of security agencies in the state and members of the State Executive Council.
Buhari is expected to first pay a visit the palace of the Lamido of Adamawa, Mohammadu Aliu Barkin, before visiting the late Joda’s family.
Recall that Joda, in 2015, was the Chairman of the Buhari Transition Committee.
In an earlier condolence message, Buhari had morned late Joda and said that he was a trustworthy and loyal companion, adding that he “steadfastly stood for the interest of the nation through highs and lows”.
According to the president, Joda’s death is a great loss to Adamawa and Nigeria.
