All Progressives Grand Alliance National Executive Committee has sacked Victor Oye as the party chairman and appointed Chief Jude Okeke to act in his stead.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ikechukwu Chinyere, while briefing journalists after the party’s 114th NEC meeting in Abuja said that six other members of the party were also sacked.
Chinyere mentioned other sacked party chiefs to include Chinedu Obidigwe, Hamman Ghide, Sylvester Ezeokenwa, Adamu Musa, Chief Okogbuo, and Ifeanyi Mbaeri.
He said the APGA chiefs were suspended indefinitely from the party as a result of gross misconduct and anti-party activities capable of destroying the party’s image, adding that the party’s NEC has also resolved to nullify the disqualification of five aspirants for the Governorship Election in Anambra State.
Among the disqualified aspirants include Sullivan Nwankpo, Okafor Smart, Chukwuma Umeoji, Ozoka Ifeanyi, and Nnamdi Dike.
The aspirants were disqualified by the Victor Oye-led faction.
The acting National Chairman, Jude Okeke, after he was sworn in, announced the cancellation of the earlier fixed dates of 23rd June and 25th June and extended the sale of the party’s Anambra State Governorship forms to the 25th of June, 2021.
Okeke said the primary election for the state governorship poll had been slated for July 1, 2021.
