The Director-General of the Yemi Osinbajo Campaign Organisation, Senator Kabiru Gaya, has hinted that the list of Presidential aspirants in the All Progressives Congress has been trimmed to just two – Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu.
Recall that Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State had earlier confirmed that the list of the aspirants had been reduced to five and sent to President Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for consideration.
He had then listed the five aspirant as Tinubu, Osinbajo, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi; and the immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
However, Gaya, the senator representing Kano-South senatorial district, told Channels Television that the list had now been reduced to just two aspirants.
Gaya further said that three Presidential aspirants stepped down for Osinbajo.
He did not mention the aspirants, except for a former Senate President Ken Nnamani, who he claimed stepped down on Monday in honour of Osinbajo.
“We have Vice-President Osinbajo and Bola Tinubu. I am aware that some aspirants have stepped down for Osinbajo. Nnamani and two others have stepped down for Osinbajo,” Gaya said.
