A few hours to the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding meeting with some governors of the ruling party from the North at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
APC’s presidential convention is scheduled to begin today at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
Details of the meeting remains sketchy, but it was learnt that it may not be unconnected with preparations for conducting a successful convention.
Those in attendance are Chairman of Progressive Governors Forum Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi); chairman of Northern Governors Forum Simon Lalong; Abubakar Baduru (Jigawa) and Babagana Zulum (Borno).
Others are: Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina); Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa); Bello Matawale (Zamfara); Mallam Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna); Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); Yahaya Inuwa (Gombe); Abubakar Bello (Niger) and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).
This is the fourth meeting President Buhari has held with party stakeholders in relation to the primary.
Recall that last Tuesday, the President met with APC Governors and later with the party’s presidential aspirants, urging them to come up with a formidable candidate from among themselves.
Buhari, also on Sunday night, hosted members of the National Advisory Council to a dinner.
