Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday met with the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi; and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, in London.
The meeting is said to be part of the move to negotiate with Wike in order to give his backing to the Labour Party’s candidate.
It was gathered that Wike attended the meeting with his allies who were Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State; Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, among others.
Meanwhile, Wike is expected to meet with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in a bid to end the rift between the duo.
Recall that PDP’s camp has been in disarray over the suspected plan by Wike to join the ruling party.
The party leaders have expressed concern about the growing relationship between Wike and influential members of the All Progressives Congress.
Wike had met Tinubu on Monday in London where they discoursed issues on working together.
