…to commence sale on Saturday
The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday, pegged its presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at N100 million.
The ruling party also fixed N50m for its governorship aspirants’ nomination and expression of interest forms, while those of the Senate is N20million, House of Representatives’ aspirants will pay N10million. State Houses of Assembly aspirants will pay only N2 million for the nomination form.
While the presidential nomination form would go for N70 million, the expression of interest forms would cost N30 million.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced this shortly after the 11th National Executive Meeting in Abuja.
The APC NEC has also approved the commencement of sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from Saturday, April 23 to May 6, 2022 for the 2023 general elections.
The APC NEC further approved a 50 per cent reduction in nomination fees for youths less than 40 years for various elective positions.
But countering an earlier announcement by the APC National Women Leader, Betta Edu, that women would not pay for the forms, Morka said they are only entitled to free nomination forms while they will pay for their expression of interest forms.
Already, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and bGovernor David Umahi of Ebonyi, have declared their intention to contest Presidency in 2023 on the platform of the ruling APC.
