Omoyeni Kuti, fondly called YK is the first child of the late Afrobeat singer, Fela Anikulapo Kuti. She clocked 60 on Monday May 24.
At her birthday party, which was done in a grand style at Afrika Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos, a little drama happened after her younger brother and singer, Seun Kuti walked out of the party.
According to a source who attended the party, the drama started after Seun was prevented from going through the security protocol of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu.
The singer was said to have been prevented from walking behind the governor who was already seated.
This, it was learnt, did not sit well with the music star as he protested against the security arrangement and angrily walked out of the party.
HipTV filmed him furiously walking-out before his elder brother and music veteran, Femi Kuti intervened and calmed him down.
However, the father of one, was later brought back to the venue of the birthday party by Femi.
Also the celebrant shared a tweet of the incident via her Twitter page. She revealed that Seun was angry over the manner the security details attached to the governor treated his wife.
“What happened was that the security detail in the course of doing their duty pushed his wife. He got upset at them understandably so, not the Governor. He even explained to the governor.
“I beg o! He has home training. @RealSeunKuti,” she tweeted.
Seun, a singer and saxophonist is known to be a critic of the government just like is late father,
Olufela Anikulapo Kuti, who is better known as Abami Eda.
