Some of the students abducted by Boko Haram insurgents from the Government Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, have regained freedom, reports reaching FirstNews have indicated.
The state government has also confirmed the release of the students, according to the Special Adviser to the Katsina Governor, Ibrahim Katsina.
According to a source that hinted our correspondent of the development, the students have been at the Government House in Katsina.
“They have returned but currently on their way to the Government House before they make their return public. But I’m not sure if they were all returned”, the source who didn’t want his name mentioned, said.
Recall that bandits attacked the all-boys school on Friday, December 11 and abducted about 333 of the school children.
The bandits used the children as human shield as they forced them to march in the forests throughout the night to Daji Yankuzo village in Zamfara State, making it difficult for security operatives to use lethal force to rescue the abducted children.
