The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has described as false and fabricated report in some section of that he has declared to run for the position of Kebbi State governor in 2023.
Reports about Malami’s declaration followed a viral video showing him declaring for Kebbi State governorship seat.
But the minister, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Umar Jibrilu Gwandu on Tuesday in Abuja, denied the report, describing it as “false and fabricated publication”.
“A video being circulated as the purported declaration was mischievously translated with fabricated insertions and interpolations that cannot in spirit and context establish the misinformation circulated,” Gwandu said.
He, however, appreciated Malami’s supporters and the general public for expressing their interest, adding that, at the right time, people will “hear from the horse’s mouth” in the full glare of the media, stakeholders, like-minds, party faithful, and supporters.
