Popular Nigerian singer Mayorkun has found his jewelry stolen on the 19th of December, 2023 in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State.
At the state government’s invitation, the artist travelled to the state to participate in the 2023 Calabar Carnival.
After his performance, Mayorkun took to social media to assert that his millions of naira worth of jewelry had been stolen.
He denounced the crime and vowed never to return to the state, calling the experience a “nightmare.”
The singer posted a N5 million prize on his social media page for the recovery of the second piece of jewelry after the first one was discovered on the 20th of December, 2023.
However, popular singer and dancer Iyanya provided an update on the event on Thursday night, stating that the second piece of jewelry has been returned.
While Sharing the clip of how the pendant was regained, Iyanya wrote, “Thank you Calabar people for doing what’s right. @iammayorkun second pendant has been found.
“This morning we got a call that it was returned to @HitFMCalabar and was received by Mr Duke Emmanuel who later transferred the pendant to Hon. Effiong Ekpenyong MNIPR, FCAI, Special Adviser Events Management, Governor’s Office, Calabar. We remain a peaceful and hospitable state.”
