President Bola Tinubu has affirmed his administration’s commitment to implementing robust strategies aimed at ending the menace of school abductions across the country.

In a statement released on Sunday by Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, Tinubu emphasized the importance of ensuring schools remain safe environments conducive to learning.

The president expressed satisfaction over the recent release of abducted students from Government Secondary School Kuriga in Kaduna and a Tsangaya school in Sokoto.

He commended the efforts of Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and security agencies for their dedication in securing the safe release of the victims.

Tinubu underscored the significance of swift and coordinated action in resolving cases of mass abductions, stating that such dedication is vital to achieving positive outcomes.

The announcement of the release of the abducted Kuriga schoolchildren was made by Governor Sani in the early hours of Sunday.

The attack on Government Secondary School Kuriga had resulted in the reported disappearance of 287 students, as confirmed by a teacher at the school, Sani Abdullahi.

Similarly, 15 students who were abducted from a Tsangaya school in Gidan Baya, Gada LGA of Sokoto, on March 9, were freed on Friday following a bandit attack on their community.
