Tinubu orders NIMC boss to commence on retirement leave, makes new appointments

President Bola Tinubu has instructed Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, the Director-General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), to proceed on a 90-day pre-retirement leave starting from August 24, 2023. This will lead to his official retirement from service on November 24, 2023.

Additionally, the President has sanctioned the designation of Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote as the Acting Director-General/CEO of NIMC, for a 90-day duration beginning on August 24, 2023. Subsequently, a full four-year term as the substantive NIMC Director-General/CEO will commence on November 24, 2023.

These announcements were detailed in a statement released by Ajiri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has also endorsed the appointment of Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub to take up the position of Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC). This selection comes after the previous DTAC Director/CEO, Dr. Pius Osunyikanmi, concluded his tenure.

The statement emphasized that these appointments are effective immediately.
