Tinubu lauds FCT Minister Wike as ‘Mr. Project’ during Abuja light rail launch

President Bola Tinubu has hailed FCT Minister Nyesom Wike as “Mr. Project” for his remarkable contributions to the successful delivery of the Abuja Rail Mass Transit, also known as the Metro Line.

At the presidential flag-off ceremony of the Abuja light rail, commemorating his first year in office, Tinubu lauded Wike’s dedication and efforts in bringing the project to fruition.

He expressed gratitude to Wike and his team for their exceptional work, highlighting their pivotal role in advancing the nation’s transportation infrastructure.

In a generous gesture, Tinubu extended the complimentary ride offer on the Abuja light rail until the end of the year, aiming to provide hope and celebration for the people.

He emphasized the importance of public amenities like the rail project in enhancing citizens’ quality of life and promoting economic growth.

The President underscored his administration’s unwavering commitment to fulfilling promises and achieving milestones in various sectors, including social services and public utilities.

Previously, Minister Wike had announced a two-month free ride offer for passengers utilizing the newly launched rail facility.

The Abuja light rail, developed in six phases with funding from the China EXIM Bank, faced challenges following its commissioning in 2018.

However, its successful revival under Tinubu’s leadership signals a significant milestone in the nation’s transportation infrastructure.
