Independent National Electoral Commission, on Sunday, declared Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State winner of the Sokoto South Senatorial District elections.
Tambuwal, a former House of Representatives Speaker on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, won by 100, 860 votes to defeat Senator Abdullahi Ibrahim Danbaba of the All Progressives Congress, who polled 95, 884 votes.
Returning Officer for the supplementary elections , Prof. Abubakar Abdullahi, while announcing the result, said Tambuwal “having satisfied the requirement of the law is declared winner and returned elected.”
