Take me for granted, regret it, Rivers Gov Fubara warns new commissioners

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has warned the state’s new commissioners not to take him for granted, else they will regret it.

He gave the warning on Wednesday at the Council Chambers of the Government House in Port Harcourt, while inaugurating the new Commissioners.

The Commissioners are, Prof Zacheous Adango (Justice), Dr Alabo George Kelly (Works), Prof. Chinedu Mmom (Education) and Barr Isaac Kamalu (Finance).

The four men served in the immediate past administration of Nyesom Wike and held the same positions until last week when the State Executive Council was dissolved.

Admonishing them, Fubara said he will not accept any action to undermine him and his administration, warning that doing so will be at their own peril.

“Let me say that I might be small but don’t take me for granted. I repeat, don’t take me for granted”, he said.

While congratulating the new appointees, Fubara said they should count themselves very lucky for reappointment as it was “the grace of God upon your lives”.

He stated that the task before them is enormous and no stone would be left unturned to ensure that the administration get to work immediately and deliver on its campaign promises.
