Students’ death: Lagos govt shutdown Ojodu Grammar School

Following the death of several students of Bab Fafunwa Millennium School, Ojodu, formerly Ojodu Grammar School, the Lagos State government has shutdown the school.

Our correspondent gathered that the development came after the state commissioner of Education, Folashade Adefisayo visited the school.

Reports on Tuesday claimed about 17 schoolchildren were crushed by a delivery truck.

But police in the state said two schoolchildren were killed as a result of the Tuesday accident.

However, during the visit to the school on Wednesday, the commissioner said the closure was part of to commiserate with the families of the victims and to address all the issues raised by the parents and other stakeholders.

Adefisayo, meanwhile, hinted that the ministry would be keeping Nigerians, particularly residents of Lagos abreast of any development on the incident.

FirstNews had reported that a truck suspectedly chased by alleged LASTMA men crushed several students a few minutes after the closure of school for the day.
