South-West govs convene in Lagos for closed-door summit

A high-level meeting of the South West Governors Forum convened on Monday in Lagos, with governors from the region gathering for discussions behind closed doors.

The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, the venue for the meeting.

In attendance include five governors representing member states of the forum. These included Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, and Governor Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State.

The Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Sanwo-Olu, Wale Ajetunmobi, confirmed the governors’ arrival and participation in the summit through videos shared on X.com on Monday.

Ajetunmobi’s statement read, “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu receiving Governors from Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Ekiti for the meeting of Southwest Governors’ Forum holding today at Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.”

Videos capturing the governors’ arrival at the venue were also shared by the SA, underscoring the significance of the gathering.

While the precise agenda of the meeting remains undisclosed, it is anticipated that the governors deliberated on critical issues pertaining to the development and welfare of the South-West region.
