According to the CP, the woman was apprehended in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area (LGA) following an intelligence report from police personnel.

The CP added that from preliminary investigations the woman in collaboration with other people stole the baby from Garaku in Kokona and wanted to sell him to a prophetess at Enugu State.

He said the traffickers took the child to Enugu but could not sell him, so they brought him back.

“So, the suspect ran out of luck and was arrested but other accomplices are still on the run,” he disclosed.

He said the police were trailing other suspects who are still on the run and promised to apprehend them, no matter their hideous.

Meanwhile, the suspected human trafficker confirmed that she was arrested in Garaku in Kokona LGA while returning the baby to his mother.

The woman, however, denied belonging to the syndicate, adding that she only helped the woman to rescue her stolen baby.

The CP also paraded other 18 suspects arrested in different parts of the state for rapping, cultism and deals in marijuana.

He said the cases were all transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
