…urges police to investigate case of assault on him
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Taiwo, has petitioned the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Frank Uba, over alleged physical attack and assault on him by the Chairman of the party in the local government, Mr Bayo Balogun.
Taiwo, who is from the Ikija ward of the LGA is accusing the APC local government chairman of assault.
He alleged that the APC local government party chairman along with his driver beat him “mercilessly” for asking for his own share of the “logistics” sent to them by Governor Dapo Abiodun for the last governorship election in the state, and he eventually landed in a hospital where he received treatment for the injuries they allegedly inflicted on him.
A copy of the hospital/doctor’s report is also attached to the petition.
Taiwo said the decision by the APC Local Government Chairman, Balogun to withhold the money sent to them by the governor for logistics purpose resulted in the defeat the party suffered in the last governorship poll in the state.
“That’s part of the reasons we lost to the opposition PDP. Some leaders in APC withheld the money by telling members that they’ll settle them after the last governorship election in the state.

ASSAULTI write to the police authority of the Nigeria Police Headquarter to please investigate the case of assault metted on me by Mr Bayo Balogun the APC party Chairman in Ijebu East Local Government and his Division.
Sir, on the 20th March 2023, I visited the house of our leader in APC at Ijebu -Ife where I met Mr Bayo Balogun, I reminded him that the logistics sent to the leader were not properly distributed and the leaders in which they are still owing me some money.
To my surprise ,the party chairman shouted at me and started to pass abusive languages on me mentioning my father’s name in which led to the fracas in the presence of our leader Chief Segun Osibote and Hon Deko Onamusi. The fracas led to the extent that Bayo’s driver joined hand to beat me to the state of coma ,saying I don’t have right to ask for any money sent by the Governor . The fight lasted for almost 45minutes and during the fight my Android phone , one ordinary phone and money was lost.
I was badly wounded by Mr Balogun Bayo and his driver are trying to eliminate me because of money. Mr Remi Badejo the youth leader of APC in our Local Government took my ATM cards also said he took about #5000 old notes when the quareling was going on but the money old note was not given to me including my two handsets which the driver claimed to belong to him
I reported the matter to the police at Ijebu Ife at around 10pm for entry. The following day, I went to the police station in which I made statement because bruises have already shown on my face . They gave me a paper for medical treatment at the police station to Ijebu Ife General Hospital in which I was treated and issued me with medical report as attached.
The leadership of APC in Ijebu East does not act as I wanted and did not allow the police to do their job which made me to report to the police Headquarters for further enquiry. Please save my soul.
