Owo communities agog as Commissioner, others move for Aiyedatiwa

No fewer than four communities in Owo Local Government area of Ondo State went agog on Wednesday, as the state’s Finance Commissioner, Mrs Omowumi Isaac, spearheaded steaming-hot campaigns for the election of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the April 20 direct primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Owo is the hometown of the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who died December, last year.

In the nine-hour campaign rallies across Owo communities such as Uso, Emure, Owo township, Ijebu, and Iyere, Isaac tasked APC members not to fritter away a golden opportunity to field a governor who cares for the masses.

Besides, she said Aiyedatiwa had drawn up a unique blueprint to transform all communities in Ondo State through industrialisation, job provision, and massive infrastructure.

In her campaign tours under the aegis of Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers Independent Council (LACO-FSIC), in concert with her Wumi Network, the Commissioner said Aiyedatiwa valued the resourcefulness of Owo people, so much that he was determined to assist entrepreneurs willing to set up industries in the area.

Addressing a large crowd of party loyalists, Isaac said, “I work with Governor Aiyedatiwa, I know how often he talks on the resourcefulness of Owo people and how the state government can make people here realise their potentials.

“In his statewide agenda to support entrepreneurs willing to set up industries and also revive the moribund ones, the governor has listed communities in Owo for big projects, especially the agro-allied ones.

“Beyond that, he has set aside a sum of N2 billion to serve as soft loans to peasant farmers, petty traders, and micro-business entrepreneurs; which I urge all of you to go and access.”

Speaking during the rallies too, the LACO-FSIC Director-General for Owo Local Government, Hon. (Dr) Adeyemi Olayemi, described Governor Aiyedatiwa as masses-friendly in his approach to governance, as he listens to every complaint and makes the complainant goes away happy.

“He is an approachable governor; someone you can fill a form to see and you will see. He is naturally gifted in solving problems and in thinking ahead,” Olayemi appraised.

The campaign team had from Uso and Emure, moved to Owo township where a mammoth crowd gathered to receive Isaac and her team at Imade College Owo, before proceeding to Ijebu and Iyere-Owo.

The Finance Commissioner also paid homage to traditional rulers in all the communities visited, where the Royal fathers prayed for the victory of Governor Aiyedatiwa in the coming primary election, and the subsequent general election holding in November.
