Osun 2022: APC leaders bar members from contesting against Oyetola

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ede South/Ede North/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency of Osun State have barred party members from the area from contesting against Governor Adegboyega Oyetola in the state’s coming governorship election.

This followed the warning by the leaders that no aspirant from the constituency should contest in the Osun APC primary against Oyetola.

This decision was made known by the Chairman of the elders, Gbadebo Ajao, at a press conference on Tuesday at Ido-Osun.

FirstNews gathered that leaders of the party in the Federal Constituency have already thrown their weight behind the second term bid of the state governor.

The party leaders said they were ready to reject any member from the constituency who contests with the governor.

The elders stated that their decision to endorse the governor as the sole candidate for the 2022 gubernatorial election was arrived at after wide consultations across the constituency.

APC had slated Saturday, March 5, 2022, for its gubernatorial primary election in Osun State and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also fixed July 16, 2022 for the Osun gubernatorial election.
