Nollywood movies you may not regret watching at cinemas this weekend

It’s weekend guys. To unwind, after all the work, business hustles, as well as all troubles that troubled the country during the week, a visit to the cinema, may not be a bad idea.

Instead of staying at home all through the weekend, it might be needful to go out and catch some fun because ‘wahala no dey finish.’

If the cinema is your choice, some selected Nollywood movies below, which are currently showing at the cinema, can make your weekend worthwhile, with some popcorn and chilled soft drink.

Lockdown

The movie is about how six individuals from different works of life met coincidentally as a result of a sudden government-imposed lockdown due to the outbreak of the covid-19  pandemic.

Lockdown features   Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Sola Sobowale, Emem Inwang, Chioma Akpotha, Tony Umez, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ini Dima-Okojie,  and a host of others. 

It was produced by  David Eruotor and KC Obiajulu, directed by Moses Inwang. The movie hit the cinema on May, 29, 2021.

Esin

Esin is a movie that illustrates the emergence of a new set of believers that mix traditional religion, Christianity and Islam together in other to confuse many people in what is called ‘Fachrislam’. 

The movie starred the like of Oga Bello, Lateef Adedimeji, Muyiwa Ademola, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, Toyin Adegbola, and loads of other people. It was produced by Femi Adebayo and directed by Tope Adebayo. Its currently showing at the cinema.

Mimi

It is a movie about a spoiled adopted child of a billionaire who was sent to spend some time with her poor-to-the-core biological parents in order to discover how to be humble and responsible. 

It’is an intense and entertaining movie that displays the tale of how the rich and poor clash.

The movie features an amazing cast such as Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, Deyemi Okanlawon, Ireti Doyle, Bimbo Akintola, Lateef Adedimeji, Jide Kosoko, Olaniyi Afonja and others.

It’s written by Joy Isi-Bewaji and directed by Samuel ‘BigSam’ Olatunji. It is showing at the cinema at the moment.

Mamba’s Diamond

It is an  action comedy that tells the story of two amateur thieves who accidentally stole the world’s most valuable diamond while trying to jack a car. As a result this, the duo, unprofessional criminals, find themselves on the run from the deadliest crime lord in the city and her highly-skilled, killer employees.

It starred the likes of Gabriel Afolayan, Osas ighodaro, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Ayo Makun and others. 

It was produced by Uchemba Williams and directed by Seyi Babatope.

My Village People
My village people

The movie is about a bachelor prince whose wayward lifestyle and crave for women put in an absurd love triangle and lands him in a coven of witches. 

It stars the likes of Amaechi  Muonagor, Racheal Oniga, Ada Ameh, Nkem Owoh, Binta Ayo Mogaji, Sophie Alakija, Akah Nnani and others. 

Scripted by Bovi, it’s executive produced is Moses Babatope. This is not showing this weekend as it will be at the cinema on the 11th of June.
